A: Access restrictions to Mainland FRANCE (Monaco's nearest airport is Nice - Côte d'Azur) are currently in effect and follow a traffic light system. Travellers from green lists countries must present a proof of vaccination status or a negative PCR test of less than 72h or less than 24h for certain countries (Cyprus, Spain, Greece, Netherlands, Portugal) in order to be allowed entry. For amber and red list countries (e.g. UK), you might have to complete a travel certificate attesting to an imperative reason for entering the country, present a negative PCR test less than 24h (UK) or 48h and/or might need to quarantine upon arrival. Please inform yourself extensively before arrival. More information and the downloadable certificate can be found here.

  • Certificate of recovery following contamination by the SARS-CoV-2 virus: more than 11 days and less than 6 months from the date of the test attesting to a positive result.

  • A full vaccination*
  • A certificate showing proof of recovery from COVID-19: a positive PCR test taken more than 11 days ago and within the last 6 months

Please note that if a person arriving from an orange zone cannot show proof of a full vaccination or a certificate showing proof of recovery from COVID-19, comply with the following requirements:

  • Justify that his displacement is based on a compelling reason (personal or family, a health reason relating to an emergency or a professional reason that cannot be postponed)
  • Present the negative result of a PCR or antigen test of less than 72 hours
  • Self-isolate for 7 days upon arrival in Monegasque territory

Anyone from a foreign country that is classified in the red zone (e.g. Russia), must present the following documents:

  • A full vaccination*
  • A certificate showing proof of recovery from COVID-19: a positive PCR test taken more than 11 days ago and within the last 6 months

Please note that if a person arriving from a red zone cannot show proof of a full vaccination or a certificate showing proof of recovery from COVID-19, comply with the following requirements:

  • Justify that their travel is based on a compelling reason (personal or family, a health reason relating to an emergency or a professional reason that cannot be postponed)
  • Present the negative result of a PCR or antigen test of less than 72 hours
  • Either self-isolate for 10 days upon arrival in Monegasque territory and present a negative PCR test at the end of their isolation period OR present the negative result of two new PCR tests, the first carried out within 24 hours of their arrival and the second carried out 5 to 7 days later

Failure to produce any of said documents will result in you being refused check-in. You will need to fill in a form when you arrive.

Reinforced controls will take place at the Principality's borders.

More information can be found on the website of the Monegasque government.

Please prepare accordingly and also check the conditions for your return.

Q: What other restrictions are currently in place in Monaco?

In line with Monegasque regulations, our guests are required to wear a mask whenever in the hotel and in all public inside and some outside areas of the Principality: Bus and train stops and platforms, esplanade of the Fontvieille shopping centre, Condamine and Monte-Carlo market places during opening hours and the Place du Palais for the changing of the guard. Children under 5 are not required to wear a mask.

There is currently no curfew in place.

Restaurants, bars, coffee shops etc. are open for continuous service. Table reservations are necessary; tables are limited to 12 covers.

In line with new governmental directives, people wishing to go to a restaurant must have a health pass or any equivalent document allowing them to prove their vaccination status, their result of a recent negative test or their certificate of recovery. This measure does not concern Monegasques and residents, nor employees if they consume outside. However, these people must have a document proving their residence or status. For indoor service, all guests must be able to show a valid health pass.

Casinos, theaters, nightclubs etc. are also open with strict health protocols.

Our swimming pool is open between 8am and 8pm (closed Thursday morning for cleaning).

More information can be found on the website of the Monegasque government.

Q: I am fully vaccinated, do I still need to present a test?

Check-in at the hotel is now possible with a proof of complete vaccination status*:

  • Johnson & Johnson "Janssen" vaccine: 28 days after administration of a single dose
  • Other vaccines: 7 days after the administration of a 2nd dose (except for people who have been infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, for whom this period is after the administration of a single dose)
